Its been busy times around here. Cooper hasn't braved anymore steps, Brodie and Cooper both have colds, halloween is tomorrow, and the only biggish news is I quit my job! Since I've been abckto work its crazy around here. We don't have time for anytihng at all. Since 1 extra shift a motnh pretty much covers my 8 shifts it was the obvious choice of what was going to have to go! I have 4 more shifts at work then I will be all finished.
We had family photos done on Saturday. I'll be really excited to see our cd of pictures when it arrives int he mail! Of course I will share some here.
Otherwise I've been doing lots of crafting and lots of volleyball. Which btw was so fantastic and hilarious last night. Ahhh good times :)

Beautiful day for a walk
Today we went and walked around the lake with Karlynn, Kade & Ivy. What a surprisingly beautiful day! the boys got a ton of exercise, Ivy popped out of the stroller for a bit at the end but Cooper chose to nap instead.

Delinquent
I have a bunch of pictures I keep taking and not uploading!
Here is my WonderPet. Brodie looooves them and I tihnk he has seen the show once and played the compuyer online game twice. But nonetheless they are the best thing since sliced bread to him. After playing at Juanitas house on Wednesday Brodie realy wanted a cape since the Wonderpets wear one and Keith and Cole had one he was wearing. We came home and I sewed this one in a jiffy out of some scrap. Then we made the Wonderpet emblem out of felt and sewed that on too. He was pretty thrilled to say the least!

Brodie is my little kitchen helper. Here he is cutting mushrooms for pizza.

We go early for nursery school so Brodie can work out some beans on the playground before class. If we're lucky we're somtimes joined by Brandy and the girls or Kim and Reeve!

Blood
I gave blood again the other night. not sure if I have mentioned it before but my goal is to max out my donations per year so going approx every 56 days. So far I am on track. 4 in a row and this is the only one where my appt wasn't exactly 56 days. I was about 2 weeks late. So hopefuly I'll be back on track after this.
There is a new program out called Life Blood. Geared specifically for peole who want to give but haven't gotten around to it yet. http://www.bloodservices.ca/CentreApps/Internet/UW_V502_MainEngine.nsf/page/E_OLB?OpenDocument
It sounds like a great program so I encourage those who ahven't yet to take a look!
I always feel really great after i give, know I've helped and the thank you's from blood recipeints they have posted make me cry!
So if you never have given before, its really not scary. Its pretty quick, it doesn't hurt (and I'm a big needle woos :) ) and I haven't seen anything but fantastic cutomer service any time I have gone.

training blah
I'm so pooped I just finished 3 days of trianing at work. So now I can take relay calls (the service for the deaf and hard of hearing) so that should make work more interesting!
Brodie draws awesome musical notes! Then he drew this next picture for auntie Erin.

Indoor Playground
We had a great time at the indoor playground today. Weird lights thought and most pics were blurry :(
Here is Brodie before nursery school. I take him early to get the beans out even when its pouring rain like this day! Cooper the same day dropping Brodie off at nursery school.

The boys loved these busy boards! I need to figure out how to make them.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a casual day here. Brett rented a U Haul and got rid of all the old deck the day before. We won't miss that pile of nail ridden jaggedy wood!
So yesterday we just did a bit of shopping and conitnued our quest for the perfect pilows. Funny how it takes a dog vomiting on them to make you do the switch even though they were old and yuck in the first place!
Last night we decided not to do the hassle of a turkey and stuff, so we had steak, potatoes and asparagus. yum yum. Happily all of those things are allowed in my hypoallergenic cleanse :)
We also spent the afternoon playing in the leaves out back. We have tons and they've baresly started to fall of the trees back there!

Mona update
We took Mona to the vet yesterday. She is fine :) Her one eye is a little funky but we are back on antibiotics for that. What a relief!
My Naturopathic Doctor visit
Tonigth I had my first visit with my new Naturopathic Doctor! She was fabulous. She is the wife of the Dr that I took Cooper to.
the first thing I did was give a urine sample, which was kind of funny because I was soooo dehydrated after vball last night that I was glad to hear they didn't need much for the tests ;)
Then I did a BIA (Bioelectrical Impedence Analysis) which is a method of assessing your body composition. The measurement of body fat in relation to lean body mass. I hadn't really expected to ahve that tested lol so it made me nervous. Anyway it was fascinating. We went through all the norms for my age group and my results. I was sooo surpirsed at how well the old bod was handling itself! Here are a couple of the key points:
Phase Angle For my age group: my result:
(measrued by resistance and reactance
6.6
my result: 7.1
(so better than the target
indicators of cellular health. basically by that much. it made me
how toxic is my system from ingested feel really confident in the and environmental toxins) choices we've been making
in our cleaning products ,
food etc.. )
Fat mass 22.5
my result:
23.2
cutting myself some slack since Coopers only one (lol) but I am very close to the target so it is a new goal for me)
Extracellular water
(basically how my body is aging
compared to my actual age (she and I were both really
happy with this result
sincei t means my body is
aging less quickly than
my actual age in yrs)
45.5
my result: 39.7
So I brought up some concerns I had (lactose intolerance, digestive issues, some eczema) I have one supplement I got today as well as continuing the L Glutamine, Udo's oil, and acidophilus plus.
Tomorrow I start a Hypo allergenic cleansing nutrition program that will hopefully get rid of the eczema since it oculd be a food sensitivity. Then after 3 weeks I can re introduce the eliminated foods and see if I get a reaction from them. There are tons of foods I can eat BUT I can't have dairy, wheat, processed foods, caffeine and some proteins and vegetables. But there really is a ton i can eat I jsut need to go shopping and get some stuff on the list so if I feel snackish I have some things handy that are allowed.
I am eating my last bowl of popcorn for 3 weeks haha, of course with popcorn seasoning on it. Might as well go out with a bang! lol
I go back in 3 weeks and hopefully the eczema is gone! If not we will try a new approach. The expreience was great. I'm really happy with how it all went and I'll be looking forward to seeing the same results as we have seen with Cooper after his appt!

Poor Mona
Well Brodie dropped a small piece of his freezie on the ground. Mona ate it, which for the most part would be fine (not desirable but fine) but it was grape. Of course I had bought the healthy freezies that are 99% grape juice. Grapes and raisins are EXTREMELY toxic to dogs. I knew they were toxic (thinking maybe some diarrhea nothing too serious) but apparently they cause renal (kidney) failure in dogs and cats even if only small amounts are digested. There have been no reported deaths from grape juice, only from grapes and raisins and of course wine but thats mostly the alcohol. But she is only 12 lbs so things like this are much more serious for her than a big dog, as well with her potential kidney problems already her system would be less able to handle something like this.I've now given her 3 tbsp of peroxide and am waiting for the vomiting to start and hopefully we'll get it out of her system before it damages her. I'll be watching for kidney failure signs for the next 48 hours. *sigh* I'm really really worried. So for those of you with dogs remember these important toxins:chocolate & cocoaonionsgrapes & raisins pits of fruits like peaches etc..there are some more but these are the most serious.
update**
Thanks She's had 3 big bouts of vomiting. but is doing better since. She jsut went outside for a pee so thats a good sign. Hopefully its the end of the vomiting and she can have a good nights rest. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
another update***
She vomited 4 more times during the night but hasn't since 3:30 this morning which is great. The emerge clinic said last night I could bring her in if that made me feel better. But it really didn't sound like they were concerned so I opted to wait for our vet today since they do a much better job (last time the emerge vet tried to get $1500 in unnecessary tests out of me). So hopefully our vet will just say to stay home and take it easy.So now to go do a heck of a lot of laundry since we had to change pillowcases twice during the night and the whole bedding once

Up!!
We have a word! Everytime I pick Cooper up I ask "up?" and today he said up! Then was so excited he has been saying up, up, up since :) When I put him down he said down, but that might have been a fluke! lol

Ju Jitsu man and his offspring
Here is Ju Jitsu man sporting his new Gi. Bretts now taking classes twice a week and loves it!

Cooper discovered the leopard print chairs this weekend. Its hard work now that he is crawling and climbing onto everything!(not always remembering how to get down either)

Brett and Brodie have been building these giant Mega Blocks bridges in the evening while I'm at work and after Cooper has gone to bed. What fun!

Cooper sitting at the picnic table. What a big boy!
