Trick or Treat!

This was the 3rd anniversary of the Johnston/Walsh Trick or Treating extravaganza! But wow, the weather sure was better than any other year. No snow AT ALL. The kids started out with mittens but those came off rigth away. We go trick or treating in Mike and Karlynn's neighbourhood because their area goes all out with decorations. Fun stuff!

Boys were fascinated by the Johnstones decorations.


We tried to get some group pics at the beginning before we set out..but it brougth to mind that old (Sesame Street??) song "1 of these things is doing their own thing, 3 of these things are doing the same.."

After a very very short while Cooper and Ivy expired. Brett and Mike took them back to the Johnstons while Karlynn and I took Brodie and Kade for awhile longer. This was before the insects really expired, we kept them quiet by feeding them chocolate ....I know..terrible...lol. But how cute are they?! :)

brodie finally had had enough when his candy bag was too heavy to carry. (don't worry I've already eaten a 1/4 of the candy...)

Amanda's Halloween Party

Today we went to Amanda's Halloween party, then later in the day to Abby's 1 yr bday party! Phew. Tuckered to say the least. (click any pic to enlarge)

My favourite bit of cool party food Amanda and Tim whipped up...kitty litter cake! So wonderfully, deliciously gross :)

Halloween decorations

Brodie and I made these out of felt last night after Coopers bedtime. Fun!

Pumpkin Carving

We bought a really sized sized pumpkin today and the boys had a blast working on it! Cooper only tried to eat a little bit of it...which is a pretty big improvement! the boys did a fantastic job at pulling out all the insides using spoons for part of it and tongs for some!


Brodie drew the face and then I carved it out.

I love how we have 800lbs of sand in our sandbox...yet they can't leave the patch of dirt by the fence alone! lol

Cooper is soooo funny! Our friends from Ontario were in town. of course Cooper wouldn't participate in mine and brodies photo...but I couldn't get him out of Shauna's!! He just stood there ever so patiently saying cheese...over and over..

Halloween Sneak Peak

This is Brodie's work in progress costume. He is going to be Mount Vesuvius (the volcano that destroyed pompeii and hercalaneum) The finished project will of course be blogged on Halloween!
