A few last pics

I couldn't squeeze all the pics into the other two posts so heres some more... and it drives me nutty how I can't make the right order of posts. so scroll down and start 3 posts down from now and work your way up..maybe because its 3am EEP! Maryanne, Jill, Sara, Colin and Dave we missed you!

It was a pretty smiley night for everyone! Steve and matthew giving us some pearly whites.

Wayne and Darren doing a charade, the answer was dodgeball lol!

We have 2 sets of cutie pie siblings, Matthew and Lorien and Darren and Jeff.

Mona got so much love tonigth she stayed up way past her bedtime because she was so busy cuddling. Darren taking yet another call during the party ;)

Lorien in her no pictures please mode! I don't blame her for not trusting anyone after matthew 'burned" her with the Astronomy....thingy. Mean mean brother!

Miss Kelly brought a sundried tomato, cream cheese and feta spread for crackers that was too die for. Luckily it was left here so Brett and I will polish it off for her..really its no trouble at all :)

Team Party more

So many pics so little time...

So first a couple of group shots of us playing at the table. Cranium is such a fantastic game, if you've never played it DO IT....DO IT...DO IT (thank you Amy our number one fan for finally reminding us that was from Starsky & Hutch)

This is the team that lost, the super rad cranium champins of the world were the elite team of Kelly, Steve, Wayne and Moi :) Note: The 2nd place team, or in theis case the last place team is pictured here :)

Maybe it was because Kelly is psychic and was able to guess this was the Statue of Liberty that Steve was sculpting. Now that is talent!

Meh, I'm nto so bad myself with the doh..I'm making a pengiun here but .....kind of looks like a penis from this angle...

Now the funny thing about Cranium is that the rules are complicated and sort of vague.....especially with Matthew, cranium master, who we swear was changing the rules during the game LOL.

We saw this smile on Steve often during Scategories.....monsieur smug with you team of alliteration experts :)

Team Party

Tonight the Wednesday and Sunday teams got together for a good ol' fashioned ho down...well not really, it was more like a board game marathon! After stuffing our face with such delectables as feta and cream cheese spread, fruit, bruschetta, spring rolls, chicken salad on baguettes, chips and dip, cheesecakes, miniature desserts.......I'm not even kidding you had to roll me from room to room at that point...

We started with Cranium bu as our group grew we switched to some game that could involve mroe people so then we went on to Tribond and then Scategories. You could see hopw competitve we all our LOL.....and to be fair how good we are on a team :) Matthew and Kelly shwing that team spirit by doing a joint charade.

Brett stayed with us for a bit, enjoying the great food and a snuggle with Mona. Cooepr was asleep before anyone got there. We let brodie stay up a bit apst bedtime to visit with his fave volleyballers. Brodie entertained us with singing, air drawing the solar system and building us a "strange" car track before bedtime. He was thrilled to spend time with his numero uno fave person Lorien.

Amy, Cranium expert, there wasn't a charade she could not do! Really, who wold know where to start with charading a taxidermist?!?!?

So....it is kidney disease

I got a call from the Holistic vet clinic today. Mona's bloodwork and urine sample and culture results came back. She isn't concentrating her urine, her kidney enzymes are higher then before...so it is kidney disease. We really lucked out that we caught it so early and were able to put her on a low protein, low phosphorous and low sodium diet Her levels since her last bloodwork 6 months ago are a halfway between mild-moderate increase. At the moment she is doing really well. I'm making her food again and it is a ground bison (the whole thing including bones), and spinach, apple and pumpkin. She's so cute she does a happy dance at dinner time on her hind legs batting the air with her paws :)

So ...now we wait. Her first symptoms will be drinking excessively, losing interest in her food and depression at the end it will be kidney failure.

*sigh* We're really sad but we know she has had a great life and she is still a happy dog today. We're working with the holistic vet and she is getting a chinese herbal medicine powder we add to her food. That will hopefully slow down the process a lot.

We really feel we have been so lucky to have had a great dog like her. I'll definitely be taking more pictures of her and the boys since I know they will never forget her.

Mr Splashy Pants

Cooper is the biggest bathtub splasher ever!

Sunday Sunday

A laid back Sunday up here in Edmonton. Poor Brett had to work all weekend but will hopefully be finished at noon today. Then we'll have some playtime outside. After that I have 2 volleyabll games which should be fantastic. We're playing one team a few spots below us, and another team a few spots above. Should be some good volleyball!

The boys are finally all better. It seemed to take forever this time to recuperate! Hopefully that will be the last of the big illnesses before spring.

Cooper braved a few more steps last night, lol he really doesn't like it though. Poor lil monkey would much rather have a free ride :) He still eats anything in sight. Brett and I joked last night that for Christmas we should just get him a big ball of lint.

Brodie is as into planets as ever, he spent his sick days drawing and writing (he is doing so great!) and playing with play-doh. He's a very busy boy. He is so gentle and loving to Cooper, they are so adorable together :)

Otherwise we are all happy and healthy (finally). Brett has his grading this week at ju jtisu so hopefully he will obtain his yellow belt!

Here are our handsome boys :)

Brodie looks so much older with his haircut!

Cooper doesn't look at the camera often :)

Brodie and his playdoh

If I forget to lock the tupperware cupboard it looks like this in a matter of seconds!

Brodie drew this duck on his doodlepro and I thought it was so fantastic!

wide mouth frog

Not sure why, but lately at dinner Cooper starts openeing his mouth really wide and saying "yaaaaaaaaaah" at me from across the table. But he squints his eyes close at the same time. hmmmmm....not sure at all what thats about but it sure is funny!
Here is a video of it: http://s57.photobucket.com/albums/g234/mwalsh36/?action=view&current=October132006309.flv

Its that time again...

The two oldest were due for a haircut! Brodie was static man with all the toque wearing altely so we decided to go super short for awhile! Mona also had her turn and had a nice bg haircut. They did a great job! On Monday will be our first appointment with the Holistic Vet here in town. She'll get acupuncture on her first visit which should be fascinating to see. Hopefully she will feel great after it. They faxed me a recipe to make for her int he meantime since the last 2 very premium foods we tried were nto good for her at all. :( So far so good on this food.

Photos with Jane

We got our photo cd from the pictures she took of our family on Saturday. Getting the photos taken was really fun, and I think she did a good job. Unfortunately with a very squirmy Cooper, me looking ucky against the colouring of the back drop and a sick Brodie (we didn't know at the time but he started running a fever that night) we didn't get many that turned out really well and really unfortunately not a family one. These were my favourite ones, enjoy the pics!
