When Brodie was little(er)
I was looking at some photos today of Brodie when he was 9 and 10 months. Wow, time flies :) I can see some similarities but not as much as I thought before I looked at these photos.
Cooper : (I'm going to have to snap a close up of him when he wakes up)

Playdate
Today wasn't hot but it sure was more humid, at least in my humble opinion! We had Juanita, Keith , Cole and Erin over to play. A little inside and a little out!
Juanita and Erin.

Snack time, Mona is hoping some nutri grain traingles will fall her way. Juanita brought them and brodie really liked them.

Splash park and trains
The other day we went to a fabulous splash park and the kids all had a blast. Minus the porta potty that hadn't been changed in at least 2 summers. It was so ew I could hold it til I was blue before gong in there!

Today Katherine, Sebastian and Harper came to play. Look at the next generation of train engineers! (the track is screwed down now ) thanks Brett!
Cooper will eat anything....even non food items. Thankfully this is him enjoying some brocolli mash LOL. After this pic he nonchalantly leaned over and smeared it all over my arm,,,

Grand Prix weekend
This weekend the Grand Prix was in Edmonton. So of course everyone is driving like they are trying to qualify...
The weather is stinking hot. Its not Brodie but me declaring it "underwear day"! Saturday we didn't do much, I took the boys to the faric store while brett did a whole bunch of outdoor stuff. Then later Uncle Sean and his buddies who were in town for the grand prix came for a bbq and a nice fire later. The poor guys were crammed into a small trailer and in 34 degree heat and no air conditioner they may as well have been sharing an oven!

Lucky Brett was given an extra ticket that Paul had so he got to go enjoy the races today and the boys and I took off to the pleasantly air conditioned odyssium (which is now Telus World of Science). We met up with Rebecca, Tyson and Carter. It was pretty funny because we were both carrying the babies, chasing the toddlers and pushing the chariots. note to self: do not take the double to the Odyssium! We had to each pop off one wheel to get through the door!

Street Performers
We also went to see the street performers this week. We met up with Amanda and Everen, and Brandy, Kaeli and Regan. We saw a rather questionable puppet show, Dan the One Man Band, some Jugglers and a couple of people on huge stilts. They had a pretty good play are for kids too.

We also watched Everen so that Tim and Amanda could go out on a nice date. The boys had a great time nad got on famously :)

Kinsmen and other stuff
We also went back to the big playground and wading pool at the Kinsmen but I don't think we will go back, it sure was busy!
Cooper is a cruising man now. He tentatively edges along footrests, chairs etc.. but isn't going from item to item quite yet. Unfortunately he falls like a ton of bricks and he's having a lot of falls these days. But the little trooper gets right back up again to tackle the next piece of furniture.

At crafty night this week I embroidered this little scooter on a snap t for Cooper. Its one of my faves to date!

This is a funny one of Brodie and Cooper. They spend a lot of time like this. Brodie loves it when Cooper tried to pull up using him or when he grabs his hair. Brodie will actually purposely position himself so Cooper can grab him!
Wizard Lake
This week we took a day trip to Wizard Lake with Karlynn, Mike, Kade and Ivy and Amanda and Everen. Unfortunately soon after getting there I managed to lock my keys in the trunk and Brett had to drive from work and rescue us :) Thankfully it is only about 40 minutes out of the city. My knight in shining armour :)
The lake was nice, the campground isn't worthy. Karlynn even passed on, after a tour of the campsite, that our gargantuan tent won't fit on most of the spots anyway. So I'm sure we'll go back to play ont he beach but not for an overnighter.

Beach
They had a great beach too, water was nice and a sandy beach! Thanks to Amanda for snapping some pics and video of me and Brodie playing in the water. Brodie really surprised me, he alked right in with no hesitation and even went up to hsi neck (right there with him of course!) but up to his waist he'd be totally by himself. What a big boy!
A quick video of a game Brodie was loving..sounds bad but I was pretending to drop him (lol no matter how you say it it doesn't sound right) http://s57.photobucket.com/albums/g234/mwalsh36/?action=view¤t=July92006146.flv

They slept great that night!

Fishing!
On the Saturday morning we went fishing off the dock. It was a free fishing weekend and there were a lot of poeple fishing! LOL And a lot of people actually catching fish. No one in our party did, even after we tried the Powerbait that a 10 yr old kid highly recomended ( he had a fistful of trout). the funny thing is we were actually a tad disappointed we didn't catch anything so brett and mike went back in the evening to try again to no avail. LOL but what kills me is Brett is allergic to fish, and Mike doesn't eat it. So why in tarnation were we fishing in the first place?!?!
In hindsight a frantic fish with a hook in its mouth probably would ahve scared the bejeezus out of Brodie anyway. But he had a great time casting off and reeling in a small rubber fish on his line.

Even more camping pictures!
We also had a chance to rent a couple of motorboats to tootle around the lake. Unfortunately our baot broke and they didn't have anymore to rent out. But we did get about 15 minutes in, plenty of time to take photos Karlynn said :)
